Kid's corner
If you are reading this page it is because your heart is keeping you alive and in good health. It beats all day long and nurtures your body by sending food and oxygen through special highways and freeways (arteries and veins) that run along the organism and help to keep it clean and warm. Heart, arteries and veins together make up the cardiovascular system (CV system). Strong as it is, however, the CV system needs some attention and care. If something goes wrong your whole body starts suffering. That's why EVGN scientists study the CV system: to understand its mechanisms and try to repair the damages when they arise. They look into genes and study their proteins, making comparisons between good and bad health conditions. In the following sections you can discover their research and visit their laboratories, find answers to some questions ... and, of course, you too can ask them new questions: they will be glad to answer!
