Enriched and continued education in Vascular Biology
|
The EVGN proposes to train tomorrow's leading investigators by creating a European training programme in vascular biology for PhD students based in part on Summer School expert lectures. The comprehensive and state-of-the-art curriculum will combine pathophysiology, pharmacology, molecular biology and genomics of vascular disease. In addition, an elite group of PhD students will be supported to spend one week to a maximum of 6 months in another partner's laboratory, to broaden their perspective and strengthen collaboration. The brightest postdoctoral scientists and trainee clinicians will also be offered to stay in EVGN laboratories for periods of 1 week to 2 months, via the scientific exchange programme. Again this is dedicated to improve their continuing professional development as well as to facilitate technology transfer between the participating centres. Finally, senior researchers from the EVGN will visit other universities/institutes of the network for brief visits (several days to one week) for in-depth teaching (master classes, seminars) or longer sabbatical periods (up to 6 months) to allow exchange of novel concepts, experimental methods and techniques. A particular emphasis of the EVGN will be to open its training programme to vascular biologists from Eastern European countries. |
